UNICEF Non-Uniform Day – Friday 1^st February A reminder we are supporting UNICEF to raise money for children in The Gambia by having a non-uniform day on Friday 1^st February. If your child would like to wear their own choice of clothes for the day, please send in a donation of £1 for UNICEF. Thank you. PFA Meeting – Wednesday 6^th February at 8pm Please come along to the PFA meeting on Wednesday 6^th February at 8pm. On the agenda are arrangements for the Coffee Afternoon and the Summer Fair. Please note the new time for the meetings. Blue Peter Appeal A reminder, that this year Blue Peter is collecting any old original CD’s, DVD’s or computer games (no copies). The appeal is to raise money for ‘Young Carers’. Please send them into school if you have any you would like to donate. Parent Workshop – Wednesday 27^th February 7pm until 8.30pm After the success of the maths workshops that we held last year, we have decided to hold a range of workshops covering maths, reading and phonics for all parents. There will be demonstrations of Peer Massage and Brain Gym during the evening. Refreshments will be served on arrival. Unfortunately, due to limited space, the workshops are for parents only. Children are not able to attend the event. Year 3 Visit to Dewsbury Museum on Wednesday 27^th February – Please see letter attached to your newsletter Holiday List – an updated holiday list is now on the website Staffing News I am delighted to inform you that we have appointed Mr Chris Green as KS1 Leader. Mr Green will join us after the Easter holiday and will be teaching in Nairobi class with Mrs Wale and covering for PPA in KS1. Mr Roger Thornton will be taking paternity leave from Tuesday 19^th February. Mr Thornton will return to school on Monday 3^rd March. During Mr Thornton’s absence Miss Nicky Andrews will be teaching Ottowa class. Supply Lunchtime Supervisor We urgently need a Supply Lunchtime Supervisor to cover for staff absences due to courses and illness. If you have any time to spare at lunchtime and are available at short notice, please contact the school office. Thank you.
