Dear Parents,
Arrangements re. Snowy Weather
A reminder that if school has to be closed due to snow or extreme weather conditions we will contact Radio Leeds (92.4, 95.3FM) and Pulse (97.5, 102.5FM). If the weather should deteriorate during the day and we think it necessary to close, we will contact the radio stations. If you think closure is a possibility, please check the radio stations, school and Kirklees websites. Thank you to all the children who came to school in wellies yesterday. The children can only play out if they have a pair of wellies and appropriate clothing.
UNICEF Non-Uniform Day – Friday 6th February
A reminder, we are supporting UNICEF by having a non-uniform day on Friday 6th February. If your child would like to wear their own choice of clothes for the day, please send in a donation of £1 for UNICEF. Thank you.
M & M Theatre Company, Performance of Aladdin
Thank you for all your donations towards the cost of Aladdin. We have received £170 currently. Please send in any remaining donations as soon as possible. The theatre company put on a fantastic performance and the children really enjoyed it.
Mrs Bordman – Absent
Mrs Bordman has had an accident and broken her arm and is expected to be absent from school until half term. Cover has been organised for Emerald class during her absence.
The New School Library
We have been reorganising the area between Jet and Topaz classrooms and this is now a dedicated library area. We are delighted with our new library and it is now ready for the children to use. Photographs will be on the school website from tomorrow.
Breakfast Club – Increase in Charge from Tuesday 24th February
Due to increased costs for staffing, food and resources we reluctantly have to increase the cost of Breakfast Club to £2.20 per day from Tuesday 24th February. This is the first increase since the Breakfast Club was introduced three years ago.
Breakfast Club booking forms for next half term will be sent home with the children who regularly attend tomorrow Friday 6th February. Copies are also available from the office and on the school website. Please pre-book places if at all possible as a large number of children who ‘drop in’ can cause staffing difficulties.
PFA Meeting – Tuesday 10th February at 7.30pm
Please come along to the next PFA Meeting on Tuesday 10th February at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.

School Council Visit to Huddersfield Town Hall
On Thursday 15th January Councillor Margaret Bates invited us to hold a meeting at the town hall. When we arrived we were met by Councillor David Hall, then he showed us round the town hall. Then we got to hold a very exciting meeting in the council chamber. This was a very enjoyable opportunity for the school council, we hope to go back there and hold another meeting there sometime in the future.
