Playtime / Lunchtime Tokens

Parent Workshop – Wednesday 27th February 7pm until 8.30pm
A reminder, we are holding a range of workshops covering maths, reading and phonics for all parents. There will be demonstrations of Peer Massage and Brain Gym during the evening. Refreshments will be served on arrival.
Unfortunately, due to limited space, the workshops are for parents only. Children are not able to attend the event.
Huddersfield Town Football Training – KS1
We have very few children registered for the KS1 Football Training next half term. Unfortunately if numbers do not increase we will have to cancel the training. The training sessions are held each Tuesday from 3.15pm until 4pm and cost £2.50 per session. If your child is interested in joining please contact the school office for a form.
World Book Day – Thursday 6th March
To celebrate World Book Day there will be a variety of activities in school. Children may dress up as their favourite book character for the day. Each child will be given a World Book Day Voucher worth £1 towards the cost of a book. The Book Fair will be in school w/c Monday 10th March and the vouchers may be used as part payment.

Changes to Dinner Arrangements
Following our health and safety review, the process has changed if you want to change your child’s dinner arrangements. From after half term you will need to complete a form for your child highlighting any food allergies they may have to ensure our records are fully up to date. The forms are available from the school office. Two weeks notice still applies to any changes.
Coffee Afternoon – Friday 22nd February from 1.15pm until 3.15pm
The PFA are having a Coffee Afternoon on Friday 22nd February from 1.15pm until 3.15pm for parents and friends. Entry is 50p (includes a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit) payable on the door. Donations of cakes and buns will be gratefully received during the morning of 22nd February. Thank you. The Befrienders are running a game for the children to visit. The children will be able to buy a bun and a drink for 30p. If there are any spare buns after all the children have had one, the surplus will be available for sale. The children will be visiting the hall at the following times:-
Canberra – 1.15pm Ottowa - 1.30pm New Dehli - 1.45pm
Paris - 2pm Brasilia - 2.15pm Beijing - 2.30pm
Nairobi - 2.45pm London - 3.00pm
Mrs Whittaker – Thank you
Mrs Glenda Whittaker will be helping in school for the last time on Friday 8th February. Mrs Whittaker has been a helper in school for over 20 years and has been a great help to many teachers and children throughout this time and will be greatly missed.

UNICEF Non-Uniform Day
Thank you to everyone for the donations for UNICEF. You raised £204.
Y 3 & 4 Concert - Ballooning Around the World!
We will be having two performances of the Year 3 & 4 Concert ‘Ballooning Around the World’ in March. A note for children in Year 3 is attached outlining the costume the children will need to wear. Year 4 will receive details after the half term. Tickets will be available to order after the half-term holiday.
PFA Meeting 6th February
The PFA met yesterday evening and it was lovely to see so many new faces. A Games Night has been arranged for Friday 18th April and the Summer Fayre is to be held on Saturday 28th June. The Summer Disco will be on Friday 4th July. Further details will be in the newsletter nearer the time.

Asthma Inhalers
Mrs Briggs has recently checked the school asthma register and I am pleased to say that all children who require an inhaler had one in school. Thank you for your support.
February Half Term Cricket Courses
Cricket courses are being held at Heckmondwike Grammar School during the half term. Please contact the school office for further details.
Huddersfield Town Football in the Community – Half Term Soccer Schools
Half Term Soccer Schools are being held at Spen Valley Sports College and Heckmondwike Grammar School during the half term holiday. Most courses are for boys and girls aged 4 – 13. If you would like further information please contact the school office.
