CD Orders
Please return your CD order with your payment by tomorrow, Friday 11th July. The CD’s will arrive in school by Wednesday 16th July.
Sports Day
We are hoping to have our Sports Day on Tuesday 15th July at 9am. As before, everyone is welcome to come along and watch. Please bring a chair or rug with you, as spectators will be seated on the grass. The children will need to bring a drink of water in a named sports bottle, a sun hat and trainers/pumps that fit. They may bring sun cream in a named bottle to apply themselves if the weather is hot. Should the weather be very poor we will make a decision at 8.45am whether it will go ahead or have to be cancelled. If we do have to cancel we have pencilled in Wednesday 16th July at 9am.
Open Evening – Thursday 10th July 7pm until 8.30pm
A reminder that we are having an informal Open Evening tonight from 7pm until 8.30pm. All parents and children are invited to look round school and have a chat with staff. You can have a look at next year’s classroom with your child and meet next year’s teacher. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening. Sweatshirts and PE Kit will be available for you to buy or order. There will be a demonstration of Peer Massage in the hall at 7pm, 7.30pm and 8pm. Miss Gibson, who will be teaching Topaz class next year, will also be here to meet parents.
Wednesday 16th July – Celebration Collective Worship starts at 2.30pm
The last Celebration Collective Worship for this academic year is on Wednesday 16th July and begins at an earlier time of 2.30pm.
Cycle Training Years 5 & 6 (currently Years 4 & 5) – W/C Monday 8th September
A Cycle Training Course is to be held in school, starting on Monday 8th September. The course is held over four days for an hour a day. On successfully completing the course the children will be awarded a badge and a certificate. If your child would like to take part, please contact the office for further information and a consent form. Please return the completed consent form to school by Wednesday 16th July.
ICT Club CANCELLED Wednesday 16th July
The ICT Club has been cancelled on Wednesday 16th July.
Year 3 / 4 Homework Club – Friday 18th July – cancelled
The Homework Club has been cancelled on Friday 18th July.
UNISON Strike – Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th July
School will not be unduly affected by the Unison Strike and will be open as normal.
Term Time Holidays
We ask for your support in avoiding taking holidays in term time. It is important that you carefully consider how this may affect your child’s education. Holiday requests need to be in writing and will only be granted for exceptional circumstances. Thank you for your support in this matter.
Hockey, Swimming and Table Tennis
Hockey - If your child is interest in learning to play hockey please ring Kim Leadbeater on 07876712974 to find about practice sessions within the Heckmondwike area.
Swimming – Tigersharks
Spen Pool: Wednesday 5-6pm
Dewsbury Sports Centre Wednesday 5-6pm and Sunday 4.30pm until 6.30pm
Batley Sports and Tennis Centre – Thursday 5 – 6pm
All sessions for girls and boys aged 7 – 10 years. Tiger Sharks is a link to Borough of Kirklees Swimming Club.
Dewsbury Table Tennis Centre
The Table Tennis Centre is located in Heckmondwike and has a pay and play facility at £3.50 per session for non – members, £2.50 for members. Basic membership costs £25.00. If you would like further details, please contact Gary Crossley on 01924 515496.

Year 5 / 6 Concert ‘Treasure Island’ Evening Performance
The Evening performance is on Wednesday 16th July at 7pm. The children need to arrive in school for 6.40pm at the latest. Please take your children to their classroom door. Parents need to enter school through the main door. Please collect your child from the outer classroom door after the concert (approx. 8pm). Photographs of the cast will be on display in the school hall and will be available to buy.

Thank you once again for your support at the Summer Fayre. You raised £1893.75 for the PFA.
Summer Disco

Kirklees Music Lessons
If your child is interested in learning to play a musical instrument, please contact the office for further information. Kirklees Music School have vacancies for most instruments to start in the Autumn Term.
Service at All Saints Church Roberttown – Thursday 17th July
The children will be walking to All Saints Church Roberttown for a Service on Thursday 17th July, please make sure that your child has a coat in school. Thank you.
