Playtime / Lunchtime Tokens

Sport Relief Fundraising and Lunchtime Theme Day – Friday 14th March
To raise money for Sports Relief we are collecting 1p and 2p coins, these can be sent into school now. On Friday 14th March the children can wear their sports kit, dress as their favourite sports person or come in school uniform. Mrs Richardson and Mrs Harris have organised a Sports themed lunchtime. There will be certificates for the 2 best dressed children in each class.
Breakfast Club – School Re-opens on Monday 7th April.
Please note that the Breakfast Club booking form sent home last week stated that Monday 7th April was a holiday. This is not correct, school re-opens on Monday 7th April and Breakfast Club will be open from 8am. If you need to amend your booking, please contact the office. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Class Photographs - Friday April 11th
Due to Sport Relief Day the date of the class photographs has been changed to Friday 11th April.
London Class (Reception) – ‘Back in Time 1940’s’ – Tuesday 18th March
The children in London class are having a 1940’s day on Tuesday 18th March. They will be doing a range of activities that used to be done in the home based on the ‘Peepo’ book by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. To make the day more authentic we would like the children to dress in typical 1940’s clothing. Boys could wear short trousers with a plain jumper and the girls wear a plain dress or skirt and blouse and a headscarf.
KS1 Easter Theme Day – Monday 17th March
The children in KS1 will be having an Easter Theme Day on Monday 17th March. There will be lots of activities during the day including, making Easter Cards and an Easter Basket.
Half Term Superstar Celebration Worship – Wednesday 19th March at 2.45pm
There will be a special Half –Term Superstar Celebration Worship on Wednesday 19th March at 2.45pm. Your child will receive a slip if they have been chosen to be a Superstar.
Inter-schools Swimming Gala
Congratulations to the Swimming Team and thanks to Mrs Briggs and Mrs Rika for their organisation and giving of their time. A review of the gala will be in next week’s newsletter.
Year 3/ 4 Concert ‘Ballooning Around the World’
Congratulations to all the children and staff for all their hard work in putting on fantastic performance of ‘Ballooning Around the World’. Photographs of the cast are on display and order forms are available if you would like to order copies. The photographs cost £1 each, please return your orders by Wednesday 19th March. Thank you.

Ms Sarah Eckford, Chair of Governors term of office has come to an end. Sarah would like to continue for another term but we are required to send out nomination forms for the vacancy. We would like to thank Sarah for all her hard work and support for the school during her term of office. Please see the attached information for further details.

Kirklees Summer Play Camp – A Fun Packed Camping Holiday for Children aged 9 – 12
The Summer Play Camps are running between 23rd July and 18th August at Woolley Edge Camp Site. The camp is for 4 days (3 nights) and costs £50, this includes coach travel and all meals. Accommodation is in tents sleeping on camp beds. The activites include, circus skills, sports, giant water slide, arts, crafts, archery and orienteering. If you would like further information / booking form, please contact the school office.
Governing Body Meeting
The Governing Body met for their half term meeting last night. The minutes and agenda will be on display in the entrance hall.
Milk for Next Term
If your child would like school milk next term, please return the envelope sent home last week with your payment of £7 by Friday 14th March. Orders will not be accepted after this date. If your child is entitled to free school meals they are also entitled to free milk. You will still need to return the envelope complete with your child’s name and class. Thank you.
Schools closes on Thursday 20th March at 3.15pm and re-opens on Monday 7th April at 8.50am.
Easter Service at All Saints Church, Roberttown, Thursday 20th March
All the children from Year 1 – Year 6 will be walking to All Saints Church during the afternoon of Thursday 20th March to take part in an Easter Service. The children will return to school for 3.15pm. The service is for the children only and parents are unable to attend.
