Sponsored Event – Five Rings Challenge, Tuesday 20th May
A reminder that on Tuesday 20th May all the children will be taking part in the ‘Five Rings Challenge’ sponsored event.
The children can be sponsored for every point scored or for a fixed amount. The money raised will be used to buy new stage blocks. Please sponsor your child and ask friends and family (no door to door approaches please). Thank you for your support. Sponsor forms are available in the school office.
 
Comment Sheet
A Comment sheet accompanies the newsletter this week. If you have any comments to make, please complete the slip and post it in the box provided in the main entrance. If you would like a personal response please include your name. Thank you.
 
Sainsbury’s Tokens
Thank you for the tokens you have sent in so far. We need 7500 Sainsburys Tokens to buy equipment for Food Technology and a Junior Golf Set and we have collected a fantastic 6100. We are getting very close to our target please continue to send them in.  
 
Family Learning Event – Year 1 & 2 on Thursday 22nd May from 1.30pm until 3pm.
Parents/carers or extended family members of children in Year 1 & 2are invited to book a place to take part in this workshop session, with their child. Places are limited to 20 and we would like a contribution of £1.00 per child to go towards the cost of resources. Unfortunately, due to limited space, younger siblings are not able to attend the event. There are still a couple of places left. If you would like to book, please collect a form from the school office. Please return your slip together with the £1 contribution in a named envelope and a ticket will be returned to confirm your place.
 
After School Clubs for Next Term – please see attached
Please collect a registration form for every club your child would like to attend including Homework Club.
 
Governor Questionnaire – please see attached questionnaire completed by Mr Andrew Woollin, Parent Governor.
 
Staffing
We have the following vacancies for support staff in school, all posts are to commence on 1st September 2008:-
 
Administration Officer – Scale 4 – advertised this week
17.5 hours per week, term time only plus inset days when required. Hours to be worked 8.30am to 12 noon Monday to Friday. Permanent post.
 
Educational Teaching Assistant – Scale 4 – advertised from Monday 19th May
11 hours per week term time only (plus inset days when required) to support a particular child in the Foundation Stage. Fixed term post, subject to future funding. It is not expected to go beyond March 2009 initially.
 
Educational Teaching Assistant – Scale 4 – advertised from Monday 19th May
20 hours per week term time only (plus inset days when required) to support a particular child in KS2. Fixed term post, subject to future funding. It is not expected to go beyond March 2009 initially.

Huddersfield Town Half Term Soccer Schools
Half Term Soccer schools are being held at Spen Valley Sports College and St John Fisher Catholic High School during the half term holiday. If you would like more information please contact the school office.
 
Payments to the Office
Please send your dinner money in a named envelope. If you are paying by cheque for dinners and milk, please make it payable to Kirklees MC. It would really help us if you could pay promptly as a lot of staff time is used chasing up payments.
 
All other payments for sweatshirts, school trips etc. need to be made payable to Roberttown J & I School Fund. Please make separate payments for dinners and school fund items in named envelopes. Thank you.
 
School closes on Friday 23rd May at 3.15pm and re opens on Monday 2nd June at 8.50am.
